Carolina Lakes
Bob Horne won the weekly men’s league event and Roland Frechette was second. … Penny Anderson won the women’s league event with Frances Valentine second.
Cliffwood
Jean Crouch, Pandora Carter and Helen George won the women’s league event. … Jimmy Stone and Roger Tyner won the senior shootout. Harry Parker and David Locklear won the first flight while Craig Hickman and Ken Stallings won the second flight. … Phil Walters, Roy Williamson and Ken Chavis won the weekly captain’s choice. … The men’s club championship will be held Sept. 25. The Fort Bragg Ladies Golf Association held a two-person best ball to try and beat the golf shop manager. The teams who did were Joni Williams and Rhonda Frovarp, Barbara Azzarelli and Helen George, Jean Martinez and Sue Mueller, Chris Spring and Virginia Perkins and Tammy Beshlin and Carol Parham.
Cypress Lakes
Ray Rundus, Tommy Stewart, Ed Drake and Kevin Sullivan won the Tuesday gangsome. … Best rounds of the week included Jack Melvin (71), Matt Burns (74), Mike Huskey (75), Jim Mills (78) and Pat Miles (79). … The member-guest tournament will be played Sept. 17-18. … A junior clinic will be held Sept. 11, 18 and 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ages are 7-18 and the fee is $40.
Fairmont
Low scores for the week included Ronald Hughes (70), James Barron (75), Dylan Thompson and Bert Thomas (76) and Rob Conway (77).
Upland Trace
Wayne Beasley, Tom Batchelor, David Bowen and Bill Wright won the Saturday group. … The Saturday Cup champs were Jim Gillo and Nick Phinney. … The winners of the Wednesday ladies group were Judy DiBacco and Dottie Haynes.
Carolina Sands
After a five-month absence from golf, Tommy Dove shot a 73. Other low scores for the week included Jeff Smith (69), Jack Van Wyck (71), Blake Baysden (72), Allen Stepro and Matt Hardee (73), George Bousisas (74), Gordon Kinlaw (75), and Bruce Horton (76).
Bayonet
Blake Fonvielle, Bill Simons, Larry Bullard and Peter Allan shot 8 under to win the Wednesday shootout.
Deercroft
Brownie Gainey, Tom Moffit, Tom Nassick and Mike Kenny won the Saturday gangsome.
Highland
Sanjay Shah, Rohun Shah, Sanjay B. Shah and Nitin Desai won the Labor Day tournament.
